Two documents of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) can assist the audiologist in expanding his or her practice to include services for (Central) Auditory Processing Disorder, (C)APD. The purpose of this article is to acquaint the reader with the critical aspects of (C)APD services and how to utilize the documents identified. Issues that continue to prevail within the audiology community are acknowledged. There are necessary tenets to (C)APD services that must be addressed, if these services are to be efficacious as well as ethical. The pertinent documents are reviewed in a step-by-step method. As a result, the practitioner could presumably expand his or her practice in an effective manner. Including these services may appear formidable, but the benefit to the client could suggest greater communication competence and social well-being.
